The Challenge Of The Century

Resonsibility or sustainability

"It is our duty as users will demand from brands what an ideal product should be: quality, price and sustainability."

What kind of consumer are you? Do you consider yourself someone who values quality or cheap? Unfortunately, and for some reason, the world we live in is often divided into decisions that are not required, on the contrary, they can be complementary and mandatory for anyone who wants to sell a product to people.

It is our duty as users will demand from brands what an ideal product should be: quality, price and sustainability. Rarely can you acquire  all of these characteristics especially with the few regulations and lies that facilitate the proliferation of harmful objects to our economy, our health and the environment. How can this be?

We've always had companies that have irresponsible practices in their value chain; Here we can talk about abusive schedules, few or no guarantees, excessive pressures, quasi-slave labor, child labor, etc. Nike and GAP in the early 90's. But that was just the beginning of a predatory device made up of Apple, Samsung, Hershey's, Inditex and many others that have been recently reported.

Another myth to discuss is having a label that says "organic" or "sustainable" does not guarantee that this is sea. First of all because of the association that people make with ecology, calling some of the worst pollutants on the planet "green." Sustainability must respond to three concepts: environmental, social and economic. This is called the triple final result of the famous 3 P's: People (people), Planet (planet), Profit (profit or benefit).

In this sense, companies must meet all the established requirements. There cannot be one that sells green products made by children, nor products useful for people but bad for the environment, nor are they viable or sustainable in the long term. Scenario in which we may be living at this time.

However, sadly, if a company producing environmentally safe goods and containing a value chain with social justice and adequate labor practices but lacking a market or its products do not have productivity problems, they are not sustainable, because it would fail in its economic part.

Only those products that are environmentally safe, socially fair, and profitable for their creators - and consumers - can obtain this distinction; which means that they can be sustained over time.

To be responsible users, we must then be the processes behind the production of our goods. It may be a burden, but it is also necessary for transparent companies the high cost of their low cost, having mentioned that, it is important notary that Dunes Relaxed Fashion has complied with the aforementioned long before it was tendency to have decency.

From the beginning, the goal was clear: to offer women a higher quality alternative that is so long-standing for 40 years of working with fabrics of better material with greater resistance. As often happens, along the way we found vocation and ulterior motives that propelled us with the project. We were collecting people who needed stability and trying to give women with problems the entire conclusion of a support that helps them become independent under the slogan Woolf suggests, for an economic freedom that could lessen the disadvantage that our condition, gender, proposes. , in this country

However, the things found that are like this both inside and outside our processes every time they were more transparent until they were a source of pride and urgency on the part of authorities they found in Dunas: women's clothing that represented help to a whipped sector, clothing that supports the local and national economy with a strong cultural identity to export, clothes that survived the passage of time with the least possible wear (both in color and texture) and finally, clothes that do not generate an indelible harmful footprint.

It is thanks to production systems without warehouse that we hold our commitment; making each order (literally) a unique piece for each customer. Thus, in addition, the damage of producing for someone non-existent is diminished. Parts that take resources and time sometimes wasted. It is time to avoid waste, refine criteria and demand improvement. It is time to become a responsible consumer. Understand our role in this chain that devours the ecosystem, our society and our life.

We return then to the beginning: What type of consumer are you? Do you consider yourself someone who values quality or cheap? Unfortunately, and for some reason, the world we live in is often divided into decisions that are not required, on the contrary, they can be complementary and mandatory for anyone who wants to sell a product to people.
